Hi, The FCC has approved the sale of 1490 WKNY, Kingston from Townsquare Media, to Radio Kingston Corporation. As soon as the sale is completed, which is expected by years end, WKNY will become a stand alone non-com, station that says they will truly serve the Kingston market. To better serve the community they have applied for a translator on 107.9, but that is currently involved with a MX situation with WHVW, Hyde Park for the same frequency . They have until November 15 to resolve the MX issue, after which the channel will go up for auction. I am quite sure Radio Kingston Corp has much deeper pockets than Joseph Ferraro, so could easily win that competition. However, does the auction open the channel to anybody that might want it or is it restricted to just WKNY and WHVW ? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
